Well Oricon released it's charts...
First off
YAY AKB48!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
sold 1,287,217! Impressive as always AKB48!
I did love the song, but I loved the 34mins MV way more then the actual song itself. But that's my opinion of course!~~
This is were the "damn..." part comes in
Did anyone notice Dream Morning Musume's sales...man were they super disappointing
They sold 7039...compared to AKB48, their single was like a failure. It came in at #12.
I don't even know what to say...NMB48 beat them out...and they've been on the charts for 2-3 weeks now.
It just seems that OG members aren't as popular as they use to be. I was so happy for their group and "Shining Butterfly" was such a good song. Oh well, I guess. I'm too shocked to really feel any kind of anger or sadness. I feel like I should smoosh my banana to my computer screen haha.
I hope Tsunku doesn't re-think the group. #12 is a really bad spot in Oricon and it just seemed realty stupid to release it while everyone knew AKB48 was releasing "GIVE ME FIVE" that week too. Did he think they can measure up to AKB's popularity? Who knows. I hope next single won't be anywhere near AKB48...as bad as that sounds (or bias).

I thought the song was similar to old Morning Musume stuff, so I am kind of hoping for them to try something fresher for their next single. I think it should also be taken into account that when they appear on TV they spend more time performing old hits than promoting this single. I want them to start working as a legitimate group rather than what they are doing right now.
ReplyDeleteu know what, Mina? U are absolutely correct! I didn't even think about that. I think because I love the old hits so much, that I don't mind seeing them perform it, but ur totally correct!
DeleteBut do you even think Tsunku will let them become a legitimate group?
I wonder~
It would be amazing if they did become one!
